The New York Subway map was developed as part of a class at Parsons The New School for Design named Applied Research: Redesigning the NYC Subway Map. It was led by information designer Julia Wargaski and historian and type designer Paul Shaw.
The Landmark Subway Map was designed in collaboration with 3D designer Nikola Dechev who modeled and rendered all landmarks. In the initial stages of development this subway map was centered around the science behind wayfinding behavior and visual clarity.
